Copyright and takedown policy

CloWebs is meant for rebuilding pages people have the right to use. If you believe someone used it with your content without permission, tell us here and we will look into it.

1. How the service works

• Customers choose reference pages in our WordPress plugin. Our service loads them, converts them and builds the pages on the customer’s own WordPress site. It identifies itself as SiteScrapper (naming the site it fetches for) and follows each site’s robots.txt, so a site can keep it away with User-agent: SiteScrapper and Disallow: / (or with rules for every robot).
• We keep the copies only until they are imported and for a limited time after, set out in our Privacy Policy, then delete them.
• Before every import, the customer must confirm that they have the right to use the material and that they will change the content and images before publishing. Our Terms forbid impersonation, phishing and copying without permission.
• We record each import: which account, which reference URL, which WordPress site and when.
• We don’t host the pages customers build. They live on the customer’s own website, so we can’t remove them ourselves. The customer, or their hosting provider, can.

2. What we can do

• Check our records for imports from your site, and contact the account holder.
• Suspend the account or revoke its license if it broke our Terms.
• Block your domain, and its subdomains, so it can’t be used as a reference in future imports.
• Share information with you or the authorities where the law requires it.

To have a copy removed from a website, also contact that site’s owner or its hosting provider. They are the ones who can take the page down.

3. What to include in a report

• Your name and email address, and the organisation you act for, if any.
• The URL of your original page.
• The URL where the copy is published, if you know it.
• Which content is yours (text, images, design, logo) and what rights you hold in it.
• What you would like us to do, for example block your domain.
• A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, that your report is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or allowed to act for them.

You can also use this form simply to ask us to block your domain as a reference. Include a URL on that domain, and explain how you are connected to it.

4. What happens next

1. We email you to confirm we received the report.
2. We review it, usually within 5 working days. We may ask you for more information or proof of your rights.
3. If imports from your site match, we contact the account holder and take the steps above that fit the case.
4. We tell you what we did.

If we take action against an account, the account holder can reply with their side, for example proof that they had permission. If they show that the report was mistaken, we may undo the action, and we tell you.

Accounts that are the subject of repeated, valid reports are closed.

5. Please report honestly

Only send a report if you are the rights holder or allowed to act for them. A false or misleading report can harm other people, and you may be responsible for that harm.
